An exceptional walnut month-going longcase clock. The well-figured case retains both the original caddy top and plinth base. The case is correctly numbered 284 on the trunk door and the movement backpate. The movement is extremely well preserved and it even retains pendulum bob and calibrated rating nut. The provenance is exceptional and we have recently discovered a Country Life photograph of the clock standing in the Hall at Stanmer Park. Provenance; The Earls of Chichester, Stanmer Park
