A very rare month-going ebony striking table clock. Whilst month-going longcase clocks are relatively common, table clocks of long duration are very rare; Tompion made only two striking table clocks that we know of. The movement of this clock has massive proportions with extra-large springs and an addition wheel in each train. The backplate is well engraved and enhanced by the external ratchet and click wheels.
