A rare three train quarter chiming ebony table clock. The dial is Windmills's best quality with calendar indication and pendulum regulation. The truely massive 8-pillar movement has thick brass plates, triple fusees, and the original verge escapement. The lovely backplate is engraved with foliage inhabited with birds and is centred by a basket of fruit above the flowing signature. Joseph Windmills was Master of the Clockmakers' Company in 1702.
