A small ebonised table timepiece with alarm. Circa 1790 Dial The 5 X 6� inch silvered dial is signed Paul Rimbault London in the arch, with engraved Roman and Arabic chapter ring, central silvered alarm disc and pierced blued steel hands. Movement The movement has five baluster pillars and a single gut fusee and spring barrel, knife-edge verge escapement with bob pendulum, the backplate with foliate border engraving and alarm pulley mounted to the top left corner. Case The well proportioned case has a brass handle to the bell top, glazed rectangular sides, foliate pierced quarter frets to the front door, the moulded base on block feet. Paul Rimbault had workshops in Denmark Street, Soho and is recorded working between 1770 - 1785
