A pretty ebonised mantel timepiece with enamel dial and balance wheel escapement. CASE The case with detachable stepped top inset with a campaign handle, removed to reveal the escapement viewing aperture, brass-framed glazed sides and door, on brass bun feet. DIAL The enamel dial signed Arnold & Dent London 362 with Roman numerals and blued steel hands, within a very finely cast and chased gilt-brass mask. MOVEMENT The high quality movement with 4 cylindrical pillars, chain fusee with maintaining power and spring barrel, large escapement platform with cut bimetallic balance and underslung lever escapement, fully signed backplate.
