A fine mahogany dial timepiece with fine signature. CASE The case has a cast brass bezel, turned mahogany surround and doors to the sides DIAL The fine silvered brass dial is signed John Wightwick London in lovely flowing script, Roman & Arabic chapter ring and fine blued steel pierced heart-shaped hands MOVEMENT The five pillar single fusee movement has gut lines and anchor escapement Provenance Strike One Islington Ltd Sold June 1978 for £800 – Original invoice included John Wightwick is recorded apprenticed in 1775 and working between 1781 and 1805.
