A large and handsome mahogany wall timepiece with half deadbeat escapement. CASE The large mahogany casing is constructed of solid mahogany with a door in the base and a cast brass bezel. DIAL 12 ½ inch silvered brass dial is engraved with Roman chapters and signed Vulliamy London with blued steel hands. MOVEMENT The well-constructed movement has thick brass plates with four pillars, chain fusee and spring barrel, half deadbeat escapement with a steel-rod pendulum with typically massive bob stamped with the serial number 1932 Provenance Bought from Beckwith & Son, April 1994 for £3,850 (sold with the invoice)
