A fine mahogany dial timepiece with verge escapement. CASE The case with well-turned mahogany surround and most unusual beaded brass bezel over the dial, the pegged salt box with side door and securing roundels to the top and bottom of the backboard. DIAL The 12 inch diameter silvered brass dial is signed John Brydnt London and has both Roman and Arabic chapters with rail-track quarter hour markers and well pierced blued steel hands. MOVEMENT The fusee movement has tapered brass plates conjoined by four pillars and verge escapement Provenance Strike One Islington Sold June 1978 for £900 – original invoice included
