A fine and small ebony table timepiece of phase III type with pull quarter repeat. The case is surmounted by Knibb''s typical foliate-tied handle, the sides are glazed and the front door is applied with winged cherub escutcheons. The 6¼ inch square gilt-brass dial has a finely matted centre, well engraved signature and finely chased gilt-brass spandrels. There are latches to the four dial feet and to the six vase-shaped pillars, single gut fusee for the going train with knife-edge verge escapement. The backplate is beautifully engraved with tulips and scrolling foliage.
