A fine ebony striking table clock with pull quarter repeat. The handsome well proportioned case has a fine double-S brass handle to the domed top and foliate cartouche escutcheons applied to the front door. The dial is well signed Dan: Quare London on the chapter ring enclosing a ring-turn decorated matted centre with calendar and mock pendulum apertures. The premium quality movement is of Quare's best work with heavy plates & pillars whilst the backplate is beautifully signed & engraved by Tompion's own engraver (G155) with tight foliate scrolls.
