A very rare recently discovered miniature longcase observatory timer. This extraordinary observatory clock which had been missing - presumed lost for almost a century, recently came to light in a private U.S. collection. It was originally made by George Graham for John Desagulier F.R.S., an eminent scientist, lecturer and Royal scientific adviser. It passed into George III's magnificent collection of scientific instruments but was later gifted in the 1840's by Queen Victoria to the Armagh Observatory, N. Ireland. In 1918 the observatory sold it to the pre-eniment clock collector David Wetherfield and it then disappeared from the public eye until it was found in 2011 in amongst a private collection of clocks in New York.
